Stopping in our tracks, our voices dropped to a whisper.
It had been a day full of hiking and seeing old buildings, and it was coming to a close as we neared our campsite.
What an incredible day in the Smoky Mountains!
The sound of waterfalls had given way to bird songs and a gentle breeze through the trees.
As we reflected on our day, we almost didn’t notice the black bear hanging out by our site.
“Do you see that?”
“Did we leave anything out?”
“Do you think it’ll leave?”
We stood back, watching.
Looking up, the bruin noticed us, and slowly turned and disappeared into the nearby woods.
